Groundswell Festival 2022 is here!
Scarborough beach is about to be hit with the return of the all-time favourite Groundswell Festival presented by Drug Aware and the City of Stirling. So gather up the gang, you do not want to miss this awesome event put together by the legends behind the Scarborough Sunset Markets – Kinn & Co.

SPORTS
The festival is an action-packed three-day event of sporting, music, food, markets and endless workshops and activities. Celebrating all things surf, skate, 3×3 streetball and BMX, it is the perfect day out for adrenaline seekers and those looking for something just a little bit different for their weekend.
The three days will feature a variety of competitions for all four sports. If you’re a surf pro you can take part in Surf League, which has been running since 1986 (wow!) and where you can win up to $5,000 in cash and prizes (double wow!). If you’re not ready for pro, but feel like just dipping your toes in the water – pun intended – the Amateur Surf Comp will be a great way to test out your skills. For you skaters out there, you can take your pick from the Groundswell Grind, with categories running for all ages, and the opportunity to win up to $3,000, or the Groundswell Rail Jam, a smashing new competition making its depute in 2022, where competitors get the chance to show off their craziest tricks! There will also be a free skating clinic, for those wanting to learn and improve their technique. If you’re a BMX rider and you’re dying to show off you’re skills then join the BMX Bowl Battle, and if you love the sport but are not ready to take on the risks yourself, than sit back, relax and enjoy the BMX Stunt Demos show featuring WA’s greatest stunt performers.
For some basket balling fun, join the 3×3 streetballing tournaments with a variety of prizes to be won, and if you feel like digging your feet in the sand, make sure to get involved with the beach volleyball tournaments.
The competitions will be fierce but so will the good vibes, so make sure you come on down and check it out!

MUSIC
Can’t have a festival without some killer music! The Scarborough amphitheater will be the hot spot for some indie surf rock, soul RnB, rap and alt-country tunes from 3pm onwards. Headliners include, DICE, Siobhan Cotchin, Anesu and Ken Paolo & the Space Cadets.
And of course we wouldn’t miss this awesome event for anything in the world! The Streamline gang will be right there, in the heat of the action, playing some cool summer vibes music and making sure everyone is having the time of their lives, from 9am (yes you read that right!) till late! This is our 4th year being part of this grand event and we froth it! There is nothing like it around Perth 😍 We can’t wait to return again this weekend and make sure everyone has an absolute blast!!

ACTIVITIES
Sports aside, the day will feature loads of FREE activities for all ages. The Festival Village will feature pop-up markets, live installations, food trucks and much more, so that friends, families, and dogs alike can enjoy the weekend and soak up some sun 🤩
There will be tones of wellness activities, such as yoga, mindful crafts and meditation, chances to cool off in the water, like ocean dips (our Perth favs Cold Nips will be there!) and ice baths, and for those beauty queens out there DIY make-up workshops and perfume creation workshops. But this list is not exhaustive! There will be many more surprises in store.
A variety of Art installations and activities, like the The Art Space Collectives workshop, will give the artsy types the opportunity to deck out their skateboards. There will also be photography and art exhibitions, like street art and The Bowl Dance Battle, scattered around the Scarborough strip and venues, so make sure you go exploring 😉
Feel like remembering high school gym classes? Get amongst a good-old lighthearted game of dodgeball and make sure you don’t miss out on the epic closing night event which will basically be a good old massive party!!
