Sal has been DJing since 2010, finding her love for mixing through her favourite genres such as Hip Hop, R&B, Afro Beats & Reggaeton. Curating her mixes through edits and remixes inspired by House and R&B samples. Sal got her first club gig with an event called “Who the Plug” initially being booked for the opening set and gaining the main spot after the promoters heard her mix.
Since then, Sal has played for Perth Promoters, “Honeycutt” supporting Tera Kora and Joe Kay, and Dj’ing at Honeycutt weekly and monthly events such as “Hive”, “Bad Manors”, “Soiree”, “WLDFLWR” and “Motel 6”. Sal has also featured on Triple J’s “The Kick On” with Shantan Wantan Inchiban, has a residency at Bar Lafayette, Al Pastor, Jungle Body and regularly features on the lineup for Sunset Sundays. One of the main shows Sal supported was opening for Brockhampton in 2020 which was a highlight in her career.
More recently, Sal played at the Art Gallery of Western Australia supporting Sarah Bahbah in her Artist Talk Special Event. Other events that Sal has been involved in include, Karrinyup Shopping Centre Launch, Honey Birdette Store Launch, One Day Sunday, Set’s on the Beach, SNACK Festival, S30, Riot Hill, High Drive, Whln, and Club Bonnie. Retail spaces Sal has been asked to support include the launch of Muse Collective, and Perth G-Star stores. Sal has also curated mixes for Perth Fashion designer Steph Audino. My favourite memory would have to be supporting Brockhampton at Belvoir Amphitheatre. Such a fun and exciting experience.
